  • Today observed World Asthma Day with the theme “You Can Control Your Asthma” and sub-theme “It’s Time to Control Asthma”. Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) organizes the day annually to spread asthma awareness and care around the world.

     

  • Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the 119th Constitutional Amendment Bill on Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) between Bangladesh and India. By the authorization of the Parliament it would also require authorization of at least 50% of the state legislatures to come into action. The bill encompasses the region in Assam in addition to region of West Bengal, Meghalaya and Tripura. The bill was placed in Rajya Sabha in 2013 and subsequently referred to a committee, headed by Shashi Tharoor. Now India and Bangladesh will exchange several enclaves which are under each other’s adverse possessions.

     

  • PAN (Permanent Account Number) has been mandatory for private firms seeking central excise registration. It will now provide within two days after filing the online applications.

     

  • The first regiment developed Surface-to-Air missile Akash Weapon System (AWS) was inducted into the Indian Army with aimed for high mobility and can be quickly moved to any operational theatres based on necessity. It contains six launchers with every launcher having three missiles in every regiment and comprise of revolutionary control systems and radars to guide the missile. It is a volume of the orders worth about 19000 crore rupees placed by the Army. Length of every missile is 5.78 meters with a weight of 720 kg. It is the large operational range from a low altitude of 30 metres to a maximum of up to 20 km.

     

  • Rajendra Rathore, Rajasthan medical and health minister has inaugurated Cow-Urine refinery at Jalore for use in formulation of various products.

     

  • Rajasthan got first place in the country in matter of free admission under Right to Education as reimbursement of school fee.

     

  • Chinese social media platform named Weibo was joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is mentioned as Twitter of China and the main micro blogging service of China. He will start off his three-nation tour to the East to South Korea, Mongolia and China.

     

  • IT Company Infosys has warned the West Bengal government as either provide SEZ status to the company’s proposed software development center at Rajarhat or repay the money has given in advance for the land.

     

  • Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and French President Francois Hollande signed 7.02 billion US dollars agreement has been signed for the supply of 24 Dassault Aviation-built Rafale fighter jets between France and Qatar which also includes training of 100 technicians by the French military and 36 Qatari pilots along with the training of a number of Qatari intelligence officers.

     

  • Michael Blake, the Oscar-winning author passed away at the age of 69. He got famous by one of his novels named Dances With Wolves of which 3.5 millions of copies were sold, translated into 15 languages, and later Kevin Costner directed it into a film. 7 Oscars were acquired by the film including Best Picture and Best Screenplay for Blake.

     

  • Lu Ping, Chinese diplomat who lead the negotiation over the handover of Hong Kong and warned territory last British Governor would be condemned through the ages passed away. He was 88.
